In a speech given yesterday at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio; Donald Trump gave a pretty incredible speech.
Don took a few moments at first to outline America’s (and by extension The West’s) past triumphs over “fascism, nazism, and communism” as a primer to set up his punchline “Radical Islamic Terrorism”, taking a sweet and very savory moment with the “Islamic” part.
He went on to outline his vision of America’s foreign policy; put out the fires that are already out of control, and stop starting new ones. He included a healthy dose of criticism of both the regimes of Barack Obama and George W. Bush, all spot-on.
I perked up at his outline of how US would fight the war against Radical Islamic Terrorism, shortly after 27:40.
“…But we must use ideological warfare as well. Just as we won the Cold War, in part, by exposing the evils of communism and the virtues of free markets, so too must we take on the ideology of Radical Islam.”
“Our Administration will be a friend to all moderate Muslim reformers in the Middle East, and will amplify their voices.”
“A Trump Administration will establish a clear principle that will govern all decisions pertaining to immigration: we should only admit into this country those who share our values and respect our people. In the Cold War, we had an ideological screening test. The time is overdue to develop a new screening test for the threats we face today.”
Elaborating on his plans:
“That is why one of my first acts as President will be to establish a Commission on Radical Islam – which will include reformist voices in the Muslim community who will hopefully work with us. We want to build bridges and erase divisions.
The goal of the commission will be to identify and explain to the American public the core convictions and beliefs of Radical Islam, to identify the warning signs of radicalization, and to expose the networks in our society that support radicalization.”
Trump went on to stress how this would be driven home:
“This also means we have to promote the exceptional virtues of our own way of life – and expecting that newcomers to our society do the same.
Pride in our institutions, our history and our values should be taught by parents and teachers, and impressed upon all who join our society.
Assimilation is not an act of hostility, but an expression of compassion. Our system of government, and our American culture, is the best in the world
and will produce the best outcomes for all who adopt it.
This approach will not only make us safer, but bring us closer together as a country.
Renewing this spirit of Americanism will help heal the divisions in our country. It will do so by emphasizing what we have in common – not what pulls us apart.”
“We will reject bigotry and oppression in all its forms, and seek a new future built on our common culture and values as one American people.”
The West is the best.
Trump has officially opened up the battlefield of ideas as the most important front of the war against radical Islam. It seems that celebrating western culture, and the benefits that it brings, is going to be a major pillar in his administration’s global fight. Trump is the champion that western civilization has needed for a long time, and this speech shows how on-the-dot he’s become on his fresh foreign policy.
Ideological warfare is a strategy we have been sorely lacking. It means taking the fight to the ideas of our enemies, and having no mercy in our critique of them. It means showing our enemies and those that sympathize with them that we are the ones in the right.
As various goons across the world use sophisticated disruption tactics against the West. We’ve been so gridlocked adhering to a politically-correct narrative that we have developed no counters to their barrages.
This is going to change, our ideas are better, and we have to strive to make sure that people the world over understand what makes them so appealing. Our memes are going to have to be great again.
So the next time you saddle up to Facebook to post some dank memes to your favourite shit-posting, understand that this is no longer just about the lulz. This is about the future of western civilization.
I won’t hide the fact that this speech made my dick hard. Even on the teleprompter the Donald performed, his tone of voice and delivery was near perfect in execution. You can read the entire thing here, if you get too turned-on by the video.
May your memes be dank, and remember: The West is the best.
